Directions
Preheat your Blackstone griddle to high heat.
Divide the ground beef into 9 equal portions and gently roll into balls. Avoid overworking the meat.
Lightly oil the griddle.
Place the beef balls evenly across the cooking surface, leaving space between each one.
Let the beef cook for 10–15 seconds, then season with salt.
Using a burger press or sturdy spatula, smash each ball into a thin patty.
Cook for 60–90 seconds, or until a deep brown crust forms on the bottom.
Flip the patties and immediately top each one with a slice of American cheese.
Allow the cheese to melt while the second side cooks.
Place the burger buns cut-side down on the griddle. Add a small splash of water nearby and cover with a basting dome to lightly steam and warm the buns.
Transfer each cheeseburger to a bun, add burger sauce if desired, and serve immediately.
