A nostalgic camping dessert made even easier in the Blackstone Air Fryer. Warm bananas are filled with melted chocolate, gooey marshmallows, and caramel, then finished with your favorite toppings for a rich, spoonable treat.
Ingredients
- 2 bananas, unpeeled
- 100 g milk chocolate buttons or chocolate chips
- 100 g caramel chocolate discs or caramel baking chips
- 80 g mini marshmallows
- 2 tbsp shredded coconut (optional)
- Buckwud maple syrup, for drizzling (optional)
- O'Donnell's Sticky Toffee Moonshine or caramel liqueur, for drizzling (optional, adults only)
Directions
- Preheat the Blackstone Air Fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Without peeling the bananas, cut a lengthwise slit through the peel and into the banana to create a pocket, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- Fill each banana with the chocolate buttons, caramel chocolate, and mini marshmallows.
- Wrap each banana tightly in aluminum foil to create a sealed packet and place them in the air fryer basket. For easier cleanup, line the basket with greaseproof paper if desired.
- Air fry for 10–12 minutes, checking after about 8 minutes. The banana peels will turn black as they cook, which is completely normal.
- While the bananas are cooking, toast the shredded coconut on a dry griddle over low heat, stirring constantly for 2–3 minutes until golden and fragrant.
- Carefully remove the bananas from the air fryer and unwrap the foil, taking care as the filling will be very hot.
- Finish with your favorite toppings. Drizzle with Buckwud maple syrup, O'Donnell's Sticky Toffee Moonshine or caramel liqueur (for adults), and sprinkle with the toasted coconut if using. Extra chocolate buttons, whipped cream, or additional marshmallows are also great additions.
- Serve warm, eating straight from the banana peel with a spoon.
