Egg-in-a-Hole (4 Ways)

Directions

  1. Preheat your griddle to medium heat and add a generous amount of butter.

  2. Using a cup or mug with a sharp edge, cut a hole in the center of each slice of bread.

  3. Place the bread on the griddle and crack an egg into the hole.

  4. Season as desired (see variations above).

  5. Cook until the egg begins to set and the bread is golden, then flip.

  6. Add any additional toppings or ingredients based on your chosen variation.

  7. Cook until the egg reaches your preferred doneness and serve warm.

  8. For the French toast version: dip the bread in the egg mixture before placing it on the griddle.
