Ingredients
- 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or hot, depending on preference)
- 1 can pizza dough or crescent roll dough
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup pizza sauce, warmed (for dipping)
Directions
- Preheat a griddle or skillet (such as a Blackstone) over medium heat.
- Cook the Italian sausage thoroughly until browned, about 5–6 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a clean surface.
- Lightly spread a small amount of pizza sauce onto the dough, being careful not to overdo it.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
- Add a thin layer of cooked sausage followed by a few slices of pepperoni.
- Sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log, seam side down, then cut into 6 equal portions.
- Lightly oil the preheated griddle with olive oil.
- Place the rolls seam-side down on the hot griddle.
- Cook each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with pizza sauce for dipping.
