Ingredients
- 400g minced beef
- 4 burger buns
- 8 rashers streaky bacon
- 150g Brie cheese, sliced
- 120ml cranberry sauce
- 4 tbsp red onion chutney (about 60 ml)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (15 ml)
- Salt to taste
- Optional: chili flakes
Directions
- Preheat a griddle or frying pan to medium-high heat and add the oil.
- Add the cranberry sauce to the pan or a small area of the griddle and warm it gently.
- Place the bacon onto the griddle and cook until crispy, allowing the fat to render.
- Divide the minced beef into 4 portions, place onto the griddle, and smash into patties, then season with salt.
- Cook the patties until browned and crisp on the edges, then flip them and continue cooking.
- Move the patties through the rendered bacon fat to absorb extra flavor.
- Place slices of Brie onto the patties and allow it to melt until soft and gooey.
- Lightly toast the burger buns on the griddle until warm.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom bun, then topping with bacon, warm cranberry sauce, and red onion chutney.
- Add a pinch of chili flakes if desired, place the top bun on, and serve immediately.
