White pizza sauce is a simple and creamy sauce made from parmesan, milk, and garlic. This delicate sauce is the perfect pairing for chicken, vegetables, and cheese pizzas.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 3 ounces grated parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
- Add the butter and garlic to a medium saucepot. Cook on medium heat until the butter is melted and the garlic is lightly toasted and very fragrant.
- Sprinkle the flour into the pot and stir with a wooden spoon until a paste is formed at the bottom of the pot. This paste is the roux that will thicken the sauce.
- Pour the milk over the roux then whisk until completely mixed. The sauce will thicken and come back to a boil. Remove from heat then stir in the grated parmesan. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Let cool before using.
